Accession to Gurugaddi

October 7, 1661 AD. at Kiratpur, at the age of 5.

Visit to Delhi

Guru Sahib visited Delhi on the invitation of Raja Jai Singh of Amber (Jaipur), as desired by Emperor Auraogzeb and stayed at his banglow. He imparted religious instructions to the multitude of people. In those days the entire city was in the grip of smallpox epidemics. Thousands of people died of smallpox infection. To provide relief to the suffering people Guru Sahib got Chubachcha constructed just outside his room. He poured water in it; picked up little water and again poured in it. He put his foot in the Chubachcha and, thus, prepared Charan-pahul. The people would recite "Satinama Vahiguru" take amrit from the Chubachcha and would cure. Since then everyone coming to Gurdwara Bangala Sahib would ardently take amrit from the Chubachcha.

Successoin to Gurugaddi

When Guru Sahib contracted smallpox he pointed to his devotees that the next Guru was at Bakala (Baba Bakale), l)ist. Amritsar. The reference was to the ninth Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur.
